International Firefighters’ Day (Lidiane Benjamim)

The International Firefighters’ Day was instituted after a tragic accident in Australia in which five firefighters died in 1998. The date is celebrated in several countries of Europe, it is also the day of Saint Florian, the patron saint of firefighters.
When we think of fire, comes the idea that the profession is related only to fire fighting, but it goes beyond that. These professionals are also responsible for search and rescue operations, providing relief in landslides and disasters, accidents and rescues in trampling, search for bodies, act as lifeguards on the beaches, etc..
