“Maracatu Rural” is a cultural manifestation of pernambuco’s popular musical wich have the “cablocos com lança”. It’s also known as “Maracatu de Baque Solto”.

The “Maracatu” means something more special than a play: It’s a secular patrimony. The dance group is formed for simple people, principally for rural workers wich cut sugar cane and take care of the soil.

The Maracatu Rural is different of the other types of Maracatu because your own songs and the essence disseminated in the costumes.

"Cambinda Brasileira group"

The oldest Maracatu Rural's group is the “Cambinda Brasileira”. This group was born in 1918 and still in the same place, at Engenho do Cumbe, Nazaré da Mata, Pernambuco.
